Pumpkin Peanut Butter Cookies (Dog Treats)

Updated: Jan 18, 2021

These treats make a great Autumn treat or a fun Halloween give away for when pups come Trick-or-Treating to your door. Make sure they share a trick for their treat!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Canned Pumpkin (careful not to use the canned pumpkin pie mix)

  • 2 Eggs

  • ¼ Cup Creamy Peanut Butter

  • 2 ½ Cups flour (more if needed)

Directions:

Beat the eggs

  1. Mix all of the ingredients together adding and mixing the flour in until the dough is the consistency of PlayDough.

  2. Separate a small amount of dough (about an ⅛ of a cup). In a small bowl mix this dough with some green food coloring. You will use this to make the pumpkin stems.

  3. Roll the other dough into balls about 1" to 1.5" in diameter.

  4. Place the balls on a parchment lined cookie sheet and flatten each ball slightly.

  5. Press down on each ball with a fork so that the prongs will leave "pumpkin line" marks. I turned the fork sideways to get a curved line on the ends.

  6. take a small amount of the green dough and place it on above of the balls with the lines vertical below. Attach the green to the pumpkin by squishing them together slightly.

  7. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes until cooked through. Less cooking time will yield softer cookies. More cooking time will yield cruncher cookies.

  8. Cool and serve to your dog with a "Puppuccino" for a true fall treat! (If you are not familiar with "Puppuccinos", Starbucks serves them for your dogs. It is a cup full of whipped cream. A fun and easy treat you can serve at home too!)
